Sydney & New South WalesThis is a featured page

New South WalesNew South Wales (NSW) is one of Australia's southeastern states and with a population of 6.7 million, the country's most populous. As the core territory of the first British colony on the Australian continent (settled in 1788), NSW is home to the country's oldest and largest city, the state capital of Sydney.

Sunny, sexy, sophisticated: Sydney basks as the shining star of the southern hemisphere. The stunning Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge are the pride and joy, but there's much more on offer.

I had been to Australia last year 2006 April. I stayed first one month in melbourne and last two months in sydney. Both the cities i found very beautiful. There are many sight seeing places like Great Ocean Drive. Sydney's acquarium is really good . Here we saw so many varities of fishes. The amazing arcitecture of Opera House is worth visiting place. I went to Bondi Beach also and its good to spend time there.
I really enjoied staying in Australia and would like to go there again.

Loved the place. We were there in January 2005 for only 2 days due to a change in plans by the cruise line. We wanted a few extra days in Sydney but they switched us to Port Douglas (also a very lovely place) and we had to pack everything in the 2 days we were there. We did see a lot, Bondi Beach, the lovely aquarium near Darling Harbour, both sides of the water, had a 4 hour tour on a bus, walked a lot, had dinner with people we met on a Mediterranean cruise who live in England and happened to be in Sydney as well.

We would love to return to Sydney and do it properly. We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, a great location and lovely hotel. We would have loved to take the ferry to the zoo and spend a day there but it was not to be. Maybe next time.
