Hobart

Hobart's airport is 22 kilometres from the city. Transfers cost about $A12 by shuttle bus and $A32 by taxi. An extensive bus network operated by Metro Tasmania serves Hobart city and suburbs. Rail services in Tasmania are primarily used for freight and limited tourist services.

The passenger and vehicle ships the Spirit of Tasmania I & II travel between Melbourne and Devonport, on Tasmania’s north coast. Nightly crossings are made in both directions with additional daytime sailings scheduled in both directions during peak periods. The overnight crossing takes 9 hours. Passenger fares start from $A117 one way and standard vehicles travel on the ships for $A79 one way. For further details go to the website www.spiritoftasmania.com.au
