I'm a local and when i travel interstate, I don't like to go to travel agents or anything as i find that its a bit of a rort plus they don't have the local insights.
i like to go on road trips but i don't have a car so will need to time it so others with cars can join me. NRMA is a good place to go for maps and local rest stops, diners etc. For food recommendations (and let's face it we ALL need to eat lol) http://www.eatability.com.au/ is a pretty awesome site as its reviewed and rated by locals Accomodations you can't beat http://www.hotels.com.au/ don't let the name fool you it ain't just about 5 star accomod it caters for the romantic 'dirty' weekend at a lodge by the sea to family B&B down to hostels and camp sites As for stuff to do when you get there i reckon www.godo.com.au has a great range for us locals (cuz i saw massage packages there too) as well as 10 day adventure holidays. I'm looking forward to my ski trip next week my girlfriend and i'd booked (that's www.godo.com.au/activity/SNAD101 ) . We planing to go skiing for 3 days then proly drive down to Canberra to visit friends (any more than 3 days i'll REALLY need a massage haha!) =D |
