Alice Springs
Alice Springs is one of my favorite cities. I traveled there in 1997 as part of an around the world backpacking trip. It amazed me that this little city thrives smack in the middle of the Australian outback.
As I recall, Ayers Rock is a several hours drive from Alice. I did a 3 day excursion to Ayers Rock thru one of the local tour operators.
